Internal happiness

If you look into history time and again people have been on the look out for something. The human mind is craving for something .What is it that the human race is after? Is it wealth? Is it fame?Is it the recognition?......it is a hot package that the human race is after. He thinks wealth can make him happy, then moves on to be famous, doing things that other people don't,but nothing satisfies him.so the search is on.....we have all come to state wherein we actually don't know what is it that will make us happy.so let us go back and see what went wrong and how we can correct ourselves.
Let us start from the basics.
Answer 3 simple questions.
1. What do we want?
2.Why do we want?
3.When do we want?

The first question is the most important one in every one's life.
what is it we want?we are often confused about this.
we have to prioritise the things we want for ourselves ,then for others.we all are selfish to an extent but not entirely so let us call upon ourselves first, then think of others.is it wealth we want how much do we want ?to last a generation, two, three......there is no end to it.
the second question is why do we want? it is obvious to satisfy our ego to show off to the world that we are much superior than the others.
the third question is when?many may think that this is a stupid question, but over the years I have seen that priority change so are wants changes,it changes with time,it changes with the group we are in.so we have to get that right.
If we could answer these three question precisely then slowly we will start realizing that our happiness does not lie outside in materialistic things but inside,so we should understand that contentment is not something that lies outside but is within us.
so let contentment fill every one's lives and bring in internal peace and happiness to everyone reading this post.

  1. Very true... No basket is big enough to collect all your desires and when u attempt to fill it more than what it can hold - it simply spills over.

  2. Wonderful, so well said. But I do have a nagging question that I have never got an answer for. OK. We tell our children to aim high and work hard to achieve their goals. Along with those goals comes recognition and praise. So there starts this whole thing about 'want'. So is it wrong to encourage and instill this drive in them to aspire and aim high?

  3. Doing our job is and aiming higher is not wrong but it should not be overdone. We should do our best and keep moving never dwell on it and wait for praise and recognition. when we have given our best it will come to us automatically.we should motivate our children but in the process we should not become anxious and make them feel guilty about things which are not in their hands.

  4. Thanks. I guess that explains the meaning of '99% perspiration, 1% inspiration'

I will keep it in mind and act upon it.
